Alchemy is an ancient branch of natural philosophy, a philosophical and proto-scientific tradition. The perfection of the human body and soul was thought to result from the alchemical magnum opus (“Great Work”).
The concept of creating the philosophers’ stone was variously connected with all of these projects. Modern discussions of alchemy are generally split into an examination of its exoteric practical applications and its esoteric spiritual aspects.

The Four Elements
The alchemical makeup of the earth and the universe is built upon the four elements. They are the foundations of all-earth magic. We all live by and are ruled by our elemental vibrations.
The 12 Astrology star signs of the zodiac are compiled into four groups of three, each having its own element assigned to them. Air, Water, Fire, and Earth each of the elements has a character and personality influence, separate from the star signs.
Spiritually, we must endeavour to balance all four elements within ourselves. We produce heat [fire] we are majority water, we breathe air and we have an organic body [earth]. We are the four elements all working together.
This guide helps you to understand which element plays a superior role to your other elements. Armed with this metaphysical knowledge you can begin to understand and learn how to keep yourself in balance. A balanced soul is indomitable.
The signs of the zodiac belonging to air are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. The element air breathes life and perpetuates action in all four elements. Without oxygen in the water, no life is possible. Without air, a fire cannot grow. And without wind, the earth cannot shake the dust.
The most important element of all four. When the air person is feeling strong there is not much which will stop their forward movement. Casting up storms of action and movement. Air people are often the inspirers of creativity and imagination.

An overabundance of air leads to a scattered mind, bewildering everyone around them including themselves. Projects go astray, work is not a focus, and relationships seem to be the last thing on a cyclone winds mind.
To calm the chaos quieten the mind, relax the body opening yourself to the energy of spirit. Balance air by taking action on things most important to you [fire]. Shake off any feelings of stagnation and defeat [earth].
The star signs of water are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. The element of water may be either turbulent or calm depending upon how we balance our emotions. The water person is a natural empath able to absorb the vibrations of all living things around them. Water is also a symbol of abundance and prosperity as it cleanses and purifies negative spirits.

Carrying an excessive amount of the element water conjures forth a river of emotions and misunderstandings. Calm water is compassionate and all-knowing, turbulent water is unforgiving, unsettled and negative. To balance water use fire, and exercise the mind and body. Breathe deeply to access the element of air, either through yoga or meditation.
The signs of the zodiac powered by fire are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The element of fire lives strongly in these star signs and is the element that is most likely to go out of control. external physical energy drives these people to action. If they are challenged they will rise to the occasion with flair. Equally, the fire signs are prone to bouts of a lack of energy if not properly self-motivated.

Too much fire in one’s soul leads to aggressive behaviour blocking our thought centre. Disabling our sixth sense creates confusion and rage. To balance a humungous firestorm bathe in water and swim in the ocean, and immediately you will notice a difference. Work with Earth to find the cause of your internal anger. Remember the only person we are truly angry with is ourselves.
The signs enveloped in precious earth are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. The earth element demands balance from all other elements. As the earth is the first element to feel any negative effects of the imbalance of the other three elements.
Therefore the earth person is often found among intelligent, higher-consciousness companies. Holding a passion for preservation, healing, and survival. Usually, a loud voice is ready and willing to stand up for what’s right.

An overload of the earth’s elements causes physical pain and discomfort. Exasperating those already known ills and aches. To balance the elemental astrology sign of earth within ourselves apply the element air.
Stand on a mountain in the breeze, breathe in its energy. Allow it to cleanse and purify your aura. Equally so execute the balancing action of the element water, and soak for hours your feet. © Psychic Medium Ian Scott
