The platypus is a semi-aquatic mammal that is a unique species and has a quirky look indeed. It is duck-billed, has a beaver-like tail, lays eggs, has otter-like fur and webbed feet like a duck. The platypus is only found in eastern Australia in small rivers, ponds, and streams within the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania.

A platypus’s bill is comprised of thousands of cells that give it a sort of sixth sense, allowing them to detect the electric fields generated by all living things (chi-aura). It’s so sensitive that the platypus can hunt with its eyes, ears, and nose all closed, relying entirely on the bill’s electrolocation system.
Platypuses’ spirit totem message is to rely on your feelings learning to trust them. We don’t always have to see things with our eyes nor be totally conscious of them to know they are there. If we are tuned in to all things around us we feel them first before seeing them.
