Spiritual meaning of trees the eternal present, The Tree of Life made manifest.
Trees are living, breathing beings, with an aura of power.
Symbolism Of Trees
To the Druids and many other people’s of the old world, there is a recognition that certain trees provide a powerful spiritual presence. Specific trees were held sacred for the wide range of materials they provided, their unique physical characteristics, their medicinal qualities or simply the power of the tree’s spirit which gave it a central place in the folklore and mythology of a culture.
Even our modern culture finds that certain trees capture our imagination. They are used as sacred shrines and places of spiritual pilgrimage, ritual, ceremony and celebration. The mighty oak, the mystical yew and so many others are reminders of the power that trees have on our lives today.
Spiritual Meaning Of Trees
Trees are living, breathing beings, with an aura of power which is visible to those who are in tune with these things. Trees, like people, are individualistic. Every tree possesses a unique personality. You may well find that you can bond and identify with one individual of a species and not with another. Meditating on and with a tree opens us to our past, present and future.
The tree acts both as an anchor
and as a doorway to these realms.
(Philip Cargol – Chief OBOD)
The Trees roots connect you to the centre of the earth, to your ancestors and your past. Their branches reach for the centre of the universe, for the sun, the stars, and the heavens and to the essence that underlies all manifestation. The leaves and buds and fruit and seeds of the tree offer messages for the future. The trunk – you, in the eternal present, is the axis mundi of your world – The Tree of Life made manifest.
Within the spiritual meaning of trees, science would have us believe that our DNA only carries the physical imprint of our genetic makeup, but we are body, mind, and soul and these things are passed onto us lock, stock and barrel.
Not only do we carry memories and experiences of this life, but we also carry the cellular memory and genetic patterning of our ancestors on an emotional, spiritual, mental as well as physical level. Trees teach us how to know time. © by Druid Priestess Jyoti Eagles
